July 2024 marked an exciting time in Boathouse Vineyards history as we began our first bottling of traditional method sparkling wine.
A detailed and specific process, traditionally a method where the sparkling relies on individual fermentations within each bottle to create rich sparkling wine made from our 100% estate Pinot Gris and Auxerrois.
The 2023 sparkling that is currently being bottled will have two release dates. The first after six to eight months aging and the second (and smaller quantity) to be released after 2 years of aging.
I am excited to see the sparkling program grow at Boathouse and help enhance our portfolio, but moreover, contribute to the greater category of sparkling wines I believe can flagship our Northern Michigan wine region. Keep a close eye for our sparkling release from the 2023 vintage early next year, you won’t want to miss it.
