Our Vineyard
Our Vineyard is located high in the rolling hills of Leelanau Peninsula between Lake Leelanau and Lake Michigan. Its sandy loam soil on a high North – South slope provides excellent drainage and the sunlight needed for a parallel 45 climate.

We believe in “Minimal Intervention” winemaking which means that the amount of additions or processing aids are limited. Boathoused oes not add acid, color, or tannins in their wines. In general we do not use enzymes or fining agents. Sulfur is kept to a minimal effective level, usually just before bottling.
Our Tasting Room
Out Tasting Room is located in the Village of Lake Leelanau at the bridge on Highway M204. There’s plenty of room to enjoy our award winning wines, either outdoors, on our covered porch or inside next to our fireplace.

After years of visiting picturesque Leelanau County and enjoying its wonderful cool-climate wines, we started Boathouse Vineyards “from scratch” in 2009, building our Winery and planting 15 acres of grapevines on land 4 miles south of our Tasting Room at 115 St Mary’s Street in the Village of Lake Leelanau.
Our hope for all who visit is to create lasting memories of enjoying fine estate- grown wines at the water’s edge.
